Miriam Dorner was born in Dornbirn, Austria, in 2003. At the age of four, she received her first cello lessons from Sarolta Bobok at the Bregenzerwald Music School. In 2014 she continued her training with Imke Frank at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory. From 2017 to 2023 Miriam was in Rebecca Firth's cello class at the MKZ in Zurich. Since October 2023 she has been studying at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in the class of Matthias Bartolomey.

Miriam receives many first prizes and awards at the state and national competition “Prima La Musica”. In 2020 she will be awarded a special prize for “soulful, beautifully crafted music-making”. Miriam has been playing in a duo with her sister Cäcilia since she was a child and finds so much joy in chamber music.

In March 2021 she will receive a scholarship at the International Music Academy in Lichtenstein with lessons from Kian Soltani.

Since 2018, Miriam has been a member of the piano trio “The Silver Trio”, with her sister Cäcilia Dorner on the violin and the pianist Stefan Man from Davos. In September 2020, the young piano trio recorded their debut album under the Coviello Classics label, with early works by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Bernstein.

She gained orchestral experience with the QUARTA 4 Länder Youth Philharmonic and the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra, among others. She gains further valuable knowledge from various master classes such as Austrian Arts Sessions, Allegro Vivo, Glatt&Verkehrt, SIMA Youth Classics and the Wolfgang Sawallisch Music Academy, including with Matthias Bartolomey, Patrick Demenga and Thomas Grossenbacher.
