Miriam Dorner

Miriam Dorner was born in Dornbirn, Austria, in 2003. At the age of four, she received her first cello lessons from Sarolta Bobok at the Bregenzerwald Music School. In 2014, she continued her studies with Imke Frank at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory. From 2017 to 2023 she is in Rebecca Firth's cello class at the MKZ in Zurich. Since October 2023 she has been studying in Matthias Bartolomey's class at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. 

 

Miriam has won several first prizes and awards at the state and national competition “Prima La Musica”. In 2020, she was awarded a special prize for her “soulful, beautifully crafted music-making”. In March 2021, she was awarded a scholarship at the International Music Academy in Lichtenstein with lessons from Kian Soltani. She gained further valuable knowledge at various masterclasses, including with Patrick Demenga and Thomas Grossenbacher.

 

Miriam has been a member of the piano trio “The Silver Trio” since 2018, with her sister Cäcilia Dorner on the violin and pianist Stefan Man from Davos. In September 2020, the young piano trio recorded their debut album with Coviello Classics, featuring early works by Beethoven, Rachmaninov and Bernstein.
